Details: Product Description The kingdom has fallen, and she is the cause…. According to legend, when the world was young, Giahem, King of the Gods, realized that the pantheon was on the verge of self-destruction due to his own actions. To protect his favorite child, he hid the infant and gave her a false name in the hope that she would survive—a name that would forever be associated with the young goddess: Issaura. Now, the capital has fallen to the Outlanders, the king has been overthrown, and the Raiders have entered the kingdom of Elysia in full force. Eighteen-year-old Lluava must flee in order to survive. After all the losses she has endured, the battles she has fought and won to no avail, she must face the worst fact of all: that she alone is responsible for the kingdom’s demise. Will she ever be able to rectify her wrongs? Lluava’s story continues in Giahem’s Talons, the final book in The Incarn Saga's award-winning new-adult series: Issaura's Claws, Ullr's Fangs, Crocotta's Hackles, and Giahem's Talons. Review ★★★★★ Reviewed By Romuald Dzemo for Readers' Favorite Giahem's Talons (The Incarn Saga) by Katharine E Wibell is a gripping fantasy with a strong appeal to young adult readers who enjoy epic fantasies. With strong undertones of myth and legend and a plot that features the proverbial struggle between light and darkness, good and evil, it features a young female protagonist with a mission that is very intimidating. When the story begins, eighteen-year-old Lluava is surprised to find herself alive. She is an indefatigable warrior who has won many battles. But now the Kingdom of Elysia is in the hands of Outlanders, the king has fallen, and she must run for her life. She knows she has brought this mess to the kingdom. But can she find the strength to right these wrongs? The writing is just so gorgeous that it pulled me in. The descriptive nature of the prose had me enticed right from the first paragraph: "Darkness was their ally, like a vigilant brother always watching, always protecting. In the shadows, they lurked as silently as the ghosts they helped to create." The conflict is phenomenal and I loved how the protagonist evolves in it. The references to the pantheon of the gods, the divine fathering, are exciting elements that will appeal to fans of mythology. The story is packed with action and the characters are richly developed. Giahem's Talons (The Incarn Saga) is a beautiful novel, featuring an imaginative world that readers will want to navigate. It is as gripping as it is delightful; from the crisp prose to the ingenious plotting, from the vivid setting to the realistic characters, it reflects the skills of a master storyteller. ★★★★★ Reviewed by Literary Titan Lluava is broken, embittered, and lost. She alone bears the responsibility for the fall of the kingdom, and she is more than aware of the fact that she alone can repair it. A young girl herself, she shoulders the weight of her wrongs and is now facing the most difficult task of her life. She has been stripped of her rank and barred from serving in the position she loves most. If she cannot fight, who is she? If she cannot defend, what is her worth? Will she be able to tackle her own demons and change the world as she knows it? Lluava, a Theriomorph, is the main character of Katharine Wibell's Giahem's Talons. This is Wibell's fourth installment of the Incarn Saga. Wibell has managed to carry over to this fourth book both the look and feel of an intense fantasy rooted in well-developed characters and a riveting plot. Lluava, though a young girl, carries the weight of hundred men on her shoulders and is a fantastic character in her own right. Nowhere else will readers find such a strong example of both femininity and power rolled into one main character. I was touched by the addition of Odel to this book. His character serves to bring Lluava down to earth when she is beginning to falter. Her entire experience being ostracized and stripped of the rig
